Animal Poems

Henny Duck

Henny Duck was a yellow fluff ball

She was a rescue brought to us all

Only five days old

Boy was she bold

Climbed out of the cage, right through the bars

Jumped down, walked to this room of ours.

Jim looked down at the floor

Said there’s a duck, I’m sure

Maybe not it’s only a trick

That was the start of Henny’s magic.

She quacked to tell us she’s real

I eat, sleep and certainly feel

Now I’m where I belong

And it took very long

To find you folks

This is no joke.

I’ve been sent to teach about faith

How to focus and concentrate

On Father’s message to His creation

This is certainly my station

Our journey together began as such

When she could she laid her clutch

She’d nest hours on the eggs

In hopes they would sprout legs.

She tried over and over to make eggs hatch

But infertile eggs are not a good batch.

So Hen stood at my feet

On the corner of the street

That day and she flew

She already knew

She wouldn’t return

Til she could learn

Is she supposed to have ducklings

She keeps on looking

As she flies lake to lake

In search of her Drake.

Henny and Henry

Henny Duck would always come running

To play with grandkids when they’re knocking

They’d open the door and holler for her

Hen do you want to play in water?

She would run across the floor

Then all would meet at the door

A squeal of delight and a loving quack

They would then make their way outback

Let’s dig a hole and fill it with waters

So Henny can swim with all the critters

Kids and Duck playing in water and dirt

The best symbiosis since Ernie and Bert

Henny grew up and flew away

Hopefully she will come back one day

Maybe she’ll bring her kids, too

Then none of us will ever be blue

A month after Henny flew

Henry the squirrel came and grew

He was a tiny, injured baby

And I missed Henny so maybe

He could fill the void and shoes

When Henny flew and I felt the blues

That’s just what happened and Henry’s my friend

Many animals we rescued but in the end

The soul in our duck you’d have to had met

To know how magic she could get

When Henny proudly related

Everyone just watched and waited

To see how we fit into Hen’s plan

As she flew circles around the land

She could outfly a hawk

Then easily walk

To spread good cheer

To all who were near.

Clyde

Clyde was the first squirrel we rescued

He needed to be loved and nurtured

We learned how to listen then care

Found out we're nesters, a pair

Raising a baby who could run and climb

But called for his mama every time

Was challenging and demanding

Yet so very rewarding

When something so small

Would curl up and fall

Fast asleep in my lap

And finally nap

Thank you Clyde for teaching us

To give of ourselves, not make a fuss

Serving your child's irrationality

Reinforcing their personality

Is essential to know

Kids need all that to grow.

Kesha and Cooper

Aly wanted a pup and didn't know what kind

They searched all around to see what they'd find

She decided on a beagle with a white tipped tail

Dad fell in love with a Siberian husky female

This husky and beagle are an infamous pair

We found ourselves beginning to stare

As Kesha, big dog would pin him down

Cooper warned her it would turn around

He would teeth on her leg

Then she could only beg

Please let me go

I promise you know

Not to sit on your head

Won't pin you or tread

On your long, cutie ears

Let's play with no fears

Now Kesha and Cooper are an amazing site

They cheer up the family with their light

It would be interesting to see

What might actually be

If these dogs would mate

Should we contemplate

Tall legs and long ears

Something so cute in a few years

Puppies would sprint all around

Keeping noses to the ground

In reality, though, some would grow

Just plain beagle or husky you know.

Pandemic Platform

Coronavirus is a sub-atomic distortion

No vaccine or doctor consortium

Will deliver people from this flu

Some really don't make it through

It makes me ponder

If they ever wonder

Where it all began

In a lab in Wuhan?

We heard it was no accident

The virus was loosed and meant

To shut down world's industry

So people would finally see

The beautiful sky

Once smog rolled by

But there's a better way

So people won't pass away

Teach folks Father's truth

Get stronger beyond youth

Everyone will go green

As they see what we mean

If they can survive

They'll be alive

To evolve into something new

Father's gift to me and you.

What doesn't acknowledge Father's gift

Also believes in a dangerous rift

Between power seeking egos

and developmental pros

Keeping people unhealthy resounds

With drugs that cause more breakdowns

People who use these so-called cures

Are really the drug addicts for sure

Victims of technology given worth

It shoots babies up soon after birth

Thus begins the syndromes

That may account for diseases

They plague our population

Little hope of salvation

Don't treat the body changes

Instead, expand brain ranges

The mind affects the body's function

So train and develop with dedication

Realize pollution is also within

People are toxic it's really a sin

No more pharma drugs do you need

Drugs that activate the brain will succeed

It's not your fault

Everyone needs to be taught.

It's the responsibility of our government

To teach citizens about new development

In order to do that diligently

All drugs must be legal nationally

Then people can be taught how to use

So no one will want to abuse

Any substance on the shelves

They must decide for themselves

What's best and good and they might

Demand politicians give them the right

To pursue sub-atomic medicine and science

Along with any religious experience

People deserve a choice

They must use their voice

Not only will the economy soar

But in neighborhoods and more

We take violence off the street

Then one can no longer reap

The last vestige of free enterprise

These conclusions are wise.
